About Understanding Your Gifts

Upon conversion, the believer receives spiritual gifts as the Holy Spirit wills. There are several ways to identify your spiritual gifts. Others can probably see your gifts. And by “doing,” you’ll discover what you’re good at and what you have a heart for. Gift assessment tests can also be revealing.

Gift assessment tests differ depending on where the producer stands in the debates concerning spiritual gifts, such as -- Are the lists of spiritual gifts in Romans 12:6-8; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, 28-30; Ephesians 4:11-12; and 1 Peter 4:9-11 finite? Are all gifts still operational in the church today?

With that said, most gift assessments include: serving/help, hospitality, mercy, exhortation, giving, administration, leadership, evangelism, shepherding, teaching, wisdom, knowledge, prophecy, discernment, faith, and apostleship. And most exclude "sign" gifts: healing, miracles, speaking in tongues, and interpretation of tongues, because these gifts are obvious to those to whom they have been given.

Should you choose to utilize the following gift assessment tests, respond to every statement and base your response on what you really sense to be your desire, interests, or abilities, not on what you "have to do" because of your position or what you feel you "should do."
